Brown bovines browsing
And the orchard boughs bow
With russets ruby red.
The grass is freshly mown
And the crops are harvested.
In the verdant valley
Nestles a neat restful town,
Where ancient tomes are sold
And past ancient voices are heard
In fading folios old.
At the cosy cottage
In this autumnal stage,
My soul is scanned by your look –
My emotions a translucent page
In an easily read page.
