'Sad Poetry' (poem) written by Andrew Drury

This poem was written on 31 August 1984. It was included in the anthology ‘Teardrops of Emotion’ (Dogma Press, Wellingborough, 2004)

You said you had poetic licence

To break my heart,

But it is not a hyperbole to say

That you tore it apart.

Other people felt assimilation

(Or so they said)

But it was me that suffered the stanzas of sorrow

That went through my head.
